I am currently at college, and they require that I install a specific version of IE talored to their network... I have done this. However, when I try to get to one of the sites to register my port (otherwise it will be shut off, dont ask me why), IE just closes with no error. The way it works is I have to run a program which gathers info about my ipconfig and other info about my system, then it is supposed to send that to the network. After running the program, (which runs in dos) it says "Continunig registration", and it goes to display a new website in IE... however, right as its about to be loaded IE closes. I get no errors or anything, its as if i hit the close button... any help would be GREATLY appreciated. My friend thought it might be a trojan, but I've used various tools to try and get rid of them, and if I had any, they are gone, but I still get the problem. Thanks in advance.

It may well be a Java error. Microsoft's Java Virual Machine (JVM) is known for causing no end of problems. Go to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html and get the JAVA Runtime Environment for Java language support. The Windows installation is mid-page (scroll down). It can't hurt, and it may help.

You may also want to go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and make sure that you are up-to-date.
