So here's my problem, which I saw a similar problem but that solution won't work in my case.

Okay my Gateway laptop is equipped with a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection wireless card & at one point I was able to get select wireless networks but now I get nothing. Yet another laptop, a Dell if that matters, will get the signal. I tried turning off the firewall on both Windows XP and my McAfee Internet Security programs. No dice, still nothing. Now I'm in a truckstop right now and it's an open network but I get no signal. Any help with this would be great.

What kind of card do you have in the Dell? This wireless network is not secured, right? Like it doesn't have any WEP keys of any kind? This may be your problem. If you don't enter in the password then you cannot connect.
