For those of you who have had long careers in tech, what has surprised you the most about it? Going further, what's something you'd do differently if you started again? (I think I might have asked the second part of this question months ago, but the brain fog is unreal, and so I'm doing my best.)

There was no presentation back then and the company would match dollar for dollar which is unheard of today. Years later I did join but missed that boat.

A thousand very small decisions, just like the rest of my life. Nothing major. All in all I am pleased with how my life in tech worked out. I got the perfect job at the perfect company, except for a couple of bosses along the way. Almost never had to wear a suit and tie except for one memorable boss-appreciation day (I'm the one in white). I had two female bosses (both great). The a-holes were both men.
