Check out the resource zone forum: [URL]http://www.resource-zone.com/forum/[/URL] It's run by DMOZ editors, and it helped me a long time ago when I was trying to get DaniWeb correctly indexed in Dmoz.

It was a rogue Visual Studio.NET ad campaign that we're running. I spotted the flyout before heading off to the bowling alley this morning and my rep emailed me about 2 pm saying it was taken care of. Did you spot the problem after then?

The first version is better - much better keywords to target!! Are you talking about keyword lists for meta tags? Most search engines don't really count keyword and description meta tags with much weight anymore.

I'm disappointed. No one wanted to use my nifty new search bbcode to produce [search]wombat[/search]

I just came on here for the first time today, and it appears I'm a little late. Everything appears to be working fine, and without experiencing the problem myself, I'm not sure which ad server it was causing the glitch. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone!

Just forward these messages to either Davey or myself and it will be handled. I haven't received any of these emails, personally.

Paid inclusion might find get the engines to find your site quicker, but once it's found, it won't be spidered or all the pages indexed any quicker.

Submitting articles to various sites in your industry with your website address in the credits can definitely not only help your search engine ranking, but get you some targeted visitors, credibility, and contacts. A good article will also earn you respect in your field.

LOL ;D it's true! I had a problem for awhile where my PCs networked together via a hub could only sometimes see each other, and when they could they were crawling at ridiculously slow speeds. I tried everything from reconfiguring Network Neighborhood to swapping out hubs. Took me 2 days …

'Stein pretty much had the hierarchy down pat. As site owner, I deal with behind-the-scenes issues, coding the website, making fundamental changes, and doing all of the marketing and business stuff. As site administrator, Davey is community leader and deals with everything dealing with how the community interacts, and takes …

Strange poll. I take a shower or bath (depending upon how much time I have or if I'm in a rush) every morning.

I don't experience this problem in IE7. It properly adds the hard return after each list item. However, you might want to try using the WYSIWYG editor. Does anyone else encounter this problem?

This PROBABLY has something to do with my cache syntax error-ing out trying to read the post. Is everything working now or are there still problems?

I test on IE6 and FireFox 1.5 on Windows XP, and on FireFox and Safari on OS X 10.4. I also make sure all pages W3C validate. Plus there's the Web Development FireFox extension. That rocks!

In addition to that, the Google database is so big, it needs distributed computing in order to deliver those lightning fast search results. And there's just so much data it takes lots of time to propagate to all of the google datacenters.

[quote=stymiee;262280]2 months is nothing in Internet time. Be patient and keep promoting your site. Eventually it will pay off.[/quote] I agree. Don't give up. It took a full year before DaniWeb expanded to more than 10 people chatting among themselves.

I don't know anything about that particular company, but generally traffic wholesalers give very bad quality traffic which doesn't convert well. If it did, it wouldn't be so cheap, and they'd put pay per click programs out of business.

As you guys know, there is a code snippet highlighter that works both in the forums using the [noparse][code=language][/code][/noparse] tags as well as in our Code Snippet library. Due to changes that have been made to the highlighter, it is now required for highlighting functionality that the code be wrapped …

From what I know, it's never been proven that Google's sandbox definitely exists. If it does, though, the sandbox is only applicable to new domains. You're most likely being deindexed for another reason - duplicate pages, decrease in the accumulation of backlinks, decreased pagerank, etc.

Internet Explorer 7 is actually out of beta. If your computer restarted midway through an install, I would go into Add/Remove programs and do a Repair on the installation of IE7.

I would start by downloading phpMyAdmin, if you're not already using it. It's a great php-based web application that lets you interact with a MySQL database. It may be possible to import a database from a text file using phpMyAdmin ... I'm not entirely sure. Since it's definitely possible to …
