I was looking around for an mIRC client for linux suse professional, and I couldnt see anything, then on mirc's homepage they had a windows emulator which allows you to run windows programs (http://www.winehq.com)

I downloaded the program but the .rpm wouldn't install with yast for some reason even though it was chmodded correctly, and it didn't display in yast, when I clicked import it said "incorrect or unsupported file"

Anyone know how to install, or where i can find a good mIRC client?

Thanks in advance,

I just tried booting again and it booted right into windows! I rebooted several times and it booted up every time. Everythign works perfectly, nothing on the hard drive is corrupt. I am baffled. I am relieved but I still wish I knew what caused the problem in case it happens again.

Haha, another case of an irritating computer ghost :P

Nice you solved your problem.

All I have is the reset button which is probably what you are talking about. I tried resetting dozens of times, and it simply wouldnt work -.-

But whats important now is the screen does seem to be damaged. Do you know any way to help reverse the effects?

As like any screen, they are not designed to have more power forced into them, the reset button is not what I am talking about, this just resets the pda, but doesn't cause any memory loss as such, which is what you want.

As pictured below on the example PDA there should be a button similar as such, turn that to the "off" position. If this doesn't help your PDA is probably damaged.

However if that doesn't work, you can try holding a magnet up to the screen, maybe it can rearrange the LCD crystals? But be carefull to do it only for a very short period, and use this as a last resort.

Good luck man.

The possibility of getting hacked is extremely unlikely. This does sound like a driver problem, although I'm not sure why you want to run off 98 and xp, when xp will do the job sufficiently anyway.

Anyhows, the best thing to do is go to device management and see if there is a driver conflict as such, or if the device is being recognised, but installation of the driver is incompatible with 98, either way wanting to have 98 is causing more hassle than its worth.

If all fails you may want to try getting a proper network card, rather than your mothereboards built in one, I recall having trouble with my built in card on an installation of 2000.

Good luck

Your palm should have a button located at the back which allows you to turn it completely off, thus disconnecting it completely from the battery, and resetting it. Its possible that the data is still on your handheld and causing this. I doubt the program damaged anything, as the lights and screen should be able to withstand a slight increase in power. Programs like this don't sound very "safe" so just look for that button which allows you to disconnect the memory from the battery turning the PDA completely off. If its still there, its either corrupted the memory, or has done slight damage to the screen.

Could someone please help me resolve a little problem I am having.

I wish to run a webserver off my pc, this is all fine, problem is that I can only do so on port 1025 upwards, which is a pain for A entries and makes assigning domain names hard, so they have to be a domain mask instead. When I port forward to port 80 it won't allow traffic in as I have to set level 1 security as pictured below, however when i try doing so my internet connection disconnects, and I cannot load any sites or open any internet related programs when its set to level 1, as soon as I reset the zyxel router to level 2 everything works again. The router is a "P643" Could anybody help resolve my issue?

Thanks in advance,

Hi, I'd really appreciate it if someone could help resolve my issue.

I have a zyxtel router which came free from my ISP. Fiddling around in the interface I set level 3 security, this blocks all pings and traceroute requests, however I didn't assume it'd block me from accesing the router via telnet or web based interface. Whenever i try to connect to the default gateway I get the error message "Cannot connect to xxx.xx.x.xx on port 23" using another port doesn't help either. I tried looking for a reset switch to restore factory configuration defaults, buit there isn't one, and i even tried opening up the router and there is a jumper there which I joined, but to no avail. I can't do anything without being able to access the interface. Somebody please help

Thanks in advance,

I played with this for about 10 minutes, and through aggresively taking out giant chunks of nested tables, I was able to get it to display the inner table in question "correctly". But by that point there was no way to tell where I was anymore.

With tables, divs, spans, spacer gifs, sized td's, images and background images, etc. it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I don't normally make commercial offers in a forum, but I can convert this to CSS for you.

That'd be sweet! Shall I zip up the documents and send them to you?

Otherwise Whats your msn/ aim addy. Thanks once again man, I really appreciate your offer. :)

On system startup you should only have programs that are necesary (maybe 2 or 3 at most) otherwise your PC is bound to take ages to load.

If you know your way around the registry you'l need to delete the entries which load up the programs at startup.

To do this go to: start > run > type in "regedit" > expand the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" tab > Expand "software" tab > Expand "Microsoft" tab > Expand "Windows tab" > Expand "current version" tab > click on "run" you should see a list of startup programs there. For the unnecesary ones right click and click delete. Warning: Don't delete anything you don't understand what it is.

Defragmenting the drive will help, although its a time consuming process. Run an antivirus scan and make sure you have the latest definitions, and run an adware scan also, making sure you also have the lastest updates likewise.

If the slowness still persists being unbearable It may be a time to reformat, and reinstall to clear out all the rubbish you have on your pc.

Peace.

You have a CSS setting, the "form" selector, with a margin property set to 100%. That could very well be the problem. Try changing that.

I would strongly recommend selecting and adding a proper DocType, and then validating both your CSS and your HTML.

What value should I try changing it to? I tried a few settings, but its either messed up in firefox or internet explorer :(

Thanks for your help ;)
