Re: Go to "Performance and Maintenance", click on "Power Options", then click on "Advanced"; the lower half of the dialog box asks two questions about how you want Windows XP to react to pressing the Power Button on the PC itself and how to react to pressing the "Sleep" or Standby …

Re:
I've 5000+ slides in my private collection. That's enough to allow me to change my desktop once a week for almost a hundred years. And I photograph enough to add to that collection at a rate of maybe a hundred a week on average, so I'll never run out :)
… | |
Re: Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel much like the main bad guy in the movie "Codename: Swordfish"; if we made terrorism so punishable that the world would be shocked by the retaliation to it, it would logically decline, but then again, people who believe that God is telling them to …
Re: '92 Ford Aerostar Van (wrecked from hitting a whitetail deer). It runs pretty good, roomy, and gets about 22 MPG (3.0L 6 cyl.) Unfortunately, it has rust cancer... Notice the Dodge makeover? LOL

How many of you have had Dental Surgery and how bad was it? I am just now getting around o.k. after 10 days in bed; only 14 teeth left now about every other one in front. I won't smile in public again till I get Partial Dentures. I know SOMEBODY …
Re: Lightninghawk, that's WAY cool! I'm gonna try that and the one that Catweasle mentioned, too. Maybe the best of both ideas would be a Desktop shortcut to a DOS batch program run full screen....hmmmmm.
Re: Hi and welcome! I'm relatively new here, myself, but I can't find a better online community anywhere. I hope you will enjoy your experiences here as much as I. :)

Re: I'm no expert, but is the cmos battery o.k.? I had a computer (not a thinkpad, though) that did much the same thing, and once I replaced the cmos battery it booted up and ran fine. Maybe it was something the BIOS would'nt accept...don't know, but it's a guess worth …
Re: I use Wallmaster to manage "lists" of wallpapers to change on a whim. It's a great program and easy to find and use; it also hides the desktop icons too, if you want. Here's my current wall:
Re: A friend of mine painted his monitor, tower, and the keyboard area of his desk red with black racing stripes to match a mousepad he likes. It actually looks really good (maybe I can convince him to let me post a photo of it sometime).

Re: Yes; Blaster or Sasser. There's a great article about the Sasser worm at PCWORLD.COM I think it does the "60 second countdown" to reboot that you mentioned. The same German kid that wrote "Sasser" also wrote the "Skynet" virus to attack infections of "MyDoom" and "Bagel"; antivirus companies call it …

O.K. ... get out your camera and show your system! Not many people can leave it stock; most people add accessories and personal touches to make it pretty much a custom piece of equipment, so why not show it off? Just use "Paint" or your own favorite image editor to …
Re: Any news on drivers? Either X-Box or PS2 would be great! Also, old printer cable works great for extensions; I've used it successfully for everything from mice to monitors 'cause it has RF shielding built in... Most discount or department stores sell these older style parallell printer cables fairly cheap, … |
