i didnt think the quick launch ate up barely any memory at all because it was just an icon for programs that you wouldnt normaly put icons on your desktop for, so you dont have to double click.

and by tray icons are you refereing to the ones on the far right? icons displayed on the far right are in an active state of running, so yes they would eat up more memory.

unless i totaly misread what you wanted to know then in that case.....:o

run hijack this and fix any 019 entries, they have been known to cause browsers to slow down (their CSS style sheets and such that you dont need to survive)

Yes, I was oh so so happy that the AGP slot wasn't dead on the motherboard. Besides, I got a sweet Geforce FX 5900 SE out of the deal :)

very nice card. i have the
PNY Verto 5600 256Mb AGP

very nice card, though i would kill for a 5900 cuz their better :).

you could also using your two's external IP's set up a tunnel and push the data between eachother, i dont know the specifics but my dad does it to move files to and from work.

I have hit upon a small snag. Hosting sites are very expensive for tha amount of data I want to transfer. ( 1-5Gb at a time). is there any other way to directly connect the two machines?

if you want to transfer that much from a 56k good luck you will most likely not finish within a few days. it could take probably about 4 days to do 5Gb of transfer on 56k. best bet would be (because your on 56k) to get a cdburner and rip all the crap to cd and send to it to him.

yeah it should be right next to semicolon(;) ie ' " see their on the same key!

umm have you tried making sure that you dont have numlock on, i know for some keyboard the keypad is integrated directly onto the keys. so the key would list two to three function. IE the key may have 0 ) and 9 all on one key.

also some laptops have buttons on them for accessing other keys. and last but not least, do you even see a picture for the key that should have ' printed on it? or are some of the keys rubbed out?

boot your winxp (do you still have your xp cd?) if you do put it in the drive. go Start>run> Clear out anything thats in there and type SFC /scannow and hit enter. that will scan though your windows xp install and replace all major system files with the disks version. i was able to fix a few problems on my machine and my moms machine with that. but for you not being able to boot your 9x install, im not sure because i dont run dual boots.
