Definately prefer the wireless option here, it has to be said. I like the freedom of computing in every room without the ear bashing and world of hurt I would enter by digging holes in the walls to run cable properly :)

I think the trick here, without wishing to sound flippant, is to prove it but helping in those threads when you see them, showing that you have the relevant knowledge and ability to provide the kind of help that DaniWeb wants to give to the community here.

Often, once this happens, members get spotted and their names get mentioned in the mods forum with regard to possible promotion to mod status.

Indeed, anyone here from that area? Not sure where I am going to be staying as of yet, or how much spare time I will have (PR's tend to organise lots of one-to-one meetings and schedule your time down to the last slice of toast at breakfast) but pointers to 'must see' places for the first time visitor would be cool.

I thought the David Niven original all those years abck (showing my age now) was better. Less need for special fx when you have truly superb actors.

As for the current film, thought the tap dancing penguin was better overall - as did a lot of folk if the opening weekend box office take is anything to go by.

Given the choice I fly from Robin Hood Airport, my local one which is correctly known as Doncaster and Sheffield (DSA) but although destinations are increasing, more often than not I cannot get suitable flight times. Some places are one flight per day, at silly times for doing business. Shame, it is only a 30 minuite drive away instead of 3 hours to Heathrow.

1. don't hijack threads like this, it is considered rude and is against the rules at DaniWeb - start a new thread when you have a question to ask please.

2. don't ask questions in the community introductions forum, this place is just for saying hi and letter everyone know who you are.

3. when you do ask your question in the appropriate forum (Databases) then you will need to give it a lot more thought and go into a lot more detail if you are to get any meaningful help.

Hope you take this advice in the spirit of goodwill in which it was intended.

Also remember, as Dani pointed out, that a DaniWeb Blog isn't quite the same as something like Blogger where pretty much anything goes. Blogs here should be reporting on IT news (with analysis, opinion or straightforward news reporting) or otherwise be an IT related editorial.

The blogs here are monitored and moderated, and postings which are solicitation, spam, off-topic or otherwise unsuitable do get deleted.

Think less 'personal webspace' and more 'DaniWeb resource'
