You didn't send an email to me, you posted into the community introductions forum (where you are now) that everyone can, indeed, see. Including me, and I replied to welcome you again here.

To find your way around the site you can use the drop down navigation menus which are organised by broad category such as web development, tech talk etc, and then drill down to the most appropriate forum.

Alternatively, use the search box to find postings relating directly to the problem you are having. More often than not someone has asked the question already, and the answers have been posted. Try searching for GeoVid, for example.

With regard to that PowerPoint question, try asking over in the Windows Software forum.

Honestly, take a little time to read the welcome guide and you should find that this is far from a confusing site.

My brother is, or at least was when we last spoke which was a couple of years back (long story.)

I did the entrance tests and apparently have an IQ of 168, but did not really feel the need to join a club to compare such things. Anyway, my social circle tends to be a good mix of folk, and that includes intelligence, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I have pretty much everything that Pratchett has published, much of it signed by the man himself courtesy of knowing him from many years back - Terry belonged to the Cix online community here in the UK, would pop up and catch people by suprise in the pratchett forums. He used to do the same on Usenet, once I had explained how to reply/post on Usenet, but nobody believed it was him :)

Well, a few people to be fair, just some high profile members amongst them.

But to be honest, community membership is always fairly cyclical - members come and go, but the community carries on, or something like that.

As Blud says, often the people who leave spend some time looking for the same thing elsewhere, cannot find it and come back.

DaniWeb is addictive like that :)

The scientific research on sleep patterns and health is so contradictory as to be as good as useless. I think that it comes down to that much forgotten resource, common sense.

Sleep for however long is good for you, eat well, exercise and avoid too much stress and you stand as much chance as anyone of getting to a ripe old age or dropping dead from a heart attack tomorrow.

But then I am something of a fatalist anyway.

Comfort food? Hmmm, has to be Marmite pinwheels baked fresh by Mrs Happygeek.

Well, it would be if it were not for the fact that I just discovered I have an intolerance to yeast, which is what Marmite is.

So now my comfort food is bananas.

You don't need them. Check out my Inside Edge blog and hit the trackbacks link. Most will get around 20-30 trackbacks, but one that made the Digg front page (Spammers named and shamed - 20,000+ views) has over 300 trackbacks as the word spread.
