i am not a Solaris guru - i do use it at work. i found out that running HTTP/FTP server is usually easier than configuring Samba. You can access the file system with any WEB browser or you can try my project gomyplace

i have a wild mix of 4 computers at home and we use rather mixed network where i work (Solaris, Win XP, Linux) My advise - FTP/HTTP server. Use konqueror/IE/Firefox to access the file system, ssh/rlogin for the command shells. write scripts which uplaod the files to the FTP server …
