It can definitely be a challenging journey, especially if it's your first time going through the process. One of the biggest hurdles tends to be managing the budget. Costs can often escalate if there’s a lack of clarity on the project scope or if there are unexpected technical challenges. A well-defined project scope and clear communication with the development team can help avoid those unpleasant surprises.

Another thing that trips up a lot of people is deciding on the platform. Whether to go for iOS, Android, or both can be tricky because each has its own set of guidelines and a distinct user base. If you’re aiming for a broad audience, you might lean towards developing for both platforms, but that obviously comes with its own cost and resource implications.

User experience is also a huge factor. A great app can lose users quickly if the design isn’t intuitive or engaging. This is why it’s crucial to collaborate closely with UX/UI designers who really get your vision and can translate that into a smooth user experience. And speaking of user experience, performance plays a massive role too. The app has to run smoothly across a variety of devices, so extensive testing becomes crucial to catch bugs and issues early on.
