Its VB6 actually, but in the future I would like to do VB.net too.
I think VB.net has a lot more to offer especially on the web application/web based system part. (Im not 100% sure though ;) )

And we can also discuss other things in here like mail server apps right?

yes, you can. if you ever want a basic intro to .NET try the microsoft press "(name of technology) step by step" books.
