ROI is your return on investment. It's how much profit you made from doing a particular type of advertising. For example, if you spent $100 on a Google AdWords campaign and it directly resulted in $500 worth of sales, you had a positive ROI of $400. However, if you spent $100 on an ad campaign and got no sales from it, there was a negative ROI and you may need to reevaluate whether that type of campaign is working well for you.
