I write to inquire if successful twitter accounts get sponsorship revenue from third parties [not twitter itself] based on the volume of followers. If so, I would like to know about good examples.

I dont now. God question. Follow the twitter celebrities and see - follow Guy Kawasaki, and anyone with over 10,000 followers. I did read an article the other day about a fashion sponsorship for female twitterers in nyc with over 1,000 followers, so its possible.

I reall don't know, this would be the first time i heard this one? Be sure to be on the lookout for information about this matter

I'm sure it's possible. If you have a **lot** of followers, advertisers would be willing to pay to have you tweet about them, because it would seem to be more of a testimonial from a "trusted" source.
