can anyone help me about low cost web hosting companies in UK. Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

asked for low-cost UK hosts, and and other members (, , ) offered starting points. Those suggestions are useful, but price alone is a poor selector. Focus on what you actually need and what the host limits or guarantees.

A short checklist to compare providers:

  • Renewal pricing vs introductory price (check year-two costs).
  • Uptime SLA and recent public uptime history.
  • Backup policy: frequency, retention, and how restores work.
  • Resource limits: CPU, RAM, concurrent processes, and inode counts.
  • Support: channels (phone/ticket/chat), response times, and real test replies.
  • Software stack: PHP/MySQL versions, SSH access, control panel, one-click apps.
  • SSL availability, email limits, and domain management rules.
  • Hidden fees, overage charges, and migration assistance.

Ecommerce notes: if you will take card payments, prefer a host that supports HTTPS/modern TLS, provides easy SSL installation, and can document PCI requirements. For on-site payment processing, shared budget hosting is usually not appropriate—use a PCI-capable provider, a VPS, or let a gateway do the heavy lifting. Performance (fast pages, caching, CDN) and reliable backups matter more for stores than for brochure sites.

Reseller/multiple-site advice: as hinted, reseller accounts can be cheaper for many sites, but check how resources are allocated. Keep domain registration separate so you can move hosts without transferring domains. Before committing, open a support ticket with pre-sales questions, sign up month-to-month to test real support and performance, and use external uptime and backup checks so a cheap host does not become an expensive problem later.

I found a few when I ran a search on google using the terms "low cost hosting UK" but I recommend UK visitors here to comment. Thanks!

LINCWEBHOSTING offers cheap, affordable web hosting and domain name registration. Located in the UK, we provide a Linux-based web hosting service for both business and individual customers at a budget price.

I think Fasthost is OK. I have use them for sometime and I have not had any problem with them.

I if you are looking for a host that you want to have multiple site one then you will have to look for one that offer reseller accounts because buying one one account is not profitable.

give freehostia a try, it may provide the solutions to what you need, best of luck friend
