I have a Compaq Presario V4000 laptop which is dead, the battery ran low and will now not charge up, I have tried a new AC power charger and that didn't work neither, it looks like there is no power supply to the laptop at all.
Please help as this has all of my photos of my family from the past 3 years :(
Have you tried running your laptop just from the mains without the battery. If it runs then it could be the battery but if it doesn't then what it looks like is it could have issues with the power connectors, where the AC adaptor is plugged into the laptop. May be that is broken and is not letting the battery recharged, and also that would prevent it from running on direct mains without the battery either.
See if you could get it looked at by someone. It should npt be too much.
