My iBook has just given up the ghost, I only have a set of Mac OS 9.1 discs and can not get the machine to boot from these disks. Help Please, no important info stored on HD.

If OSX you will need to find a 10.x disk and try that. It is best if it is from the same version of laptop, since there were some things done specific for individual models on the install disks.
(I was unable to reinstall classic on my G5 because I couldn't find the original disks that came with it.)
If you just want to get it running, determine if it can run 10.5, if so, get it and install fresh. Otherwise your going to have to shop around for any 10.4 (or other) disks (ebay etc...)
