Hello, i would be grateful if you could answer a question for me. I have the above laptop, which has an 80 gb hard drive. Is it possible to upgrade the hard drive? and how would you go about doing this?

Yes you can upgrade, any one of these will work. If you decide to go for the 7200 RPM, be aware that there is a trade off for speed with battery amp hours, this means that the faster drive will deplete you battery faster.
This site may not have you exact model, but there are several models of Porteges, so you should be able to use the instruction from one of these to make your installation.
