So after listening to your guys advice i've decided to build my own computer. Here are the list of compents I intend on using:

EPoX EP-8KDA3J Skt 754 Nvidia nforce3
AMD athlon 64 3000+ Newcastle Skt 754
Corsair Valueselect 1GB(2x512MB) DDR400
CHAINTECH SA6600 Geforce 6600 256MB AGP
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST380011A 80GB IDE
NEC IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3520A BK OEM
Rosewill TU-155 case w/400W PSU
Thermaltake Silent Boost K8 80mm Ball

This will be my first time assembling a computer so if anyone has any thoughts or comments about this setup I'd appreciate feedback. Maybe you've experienced that some of these components aren't good quality, or maybe I can find cheaper, etc. Thank you all in advance.

I would suggest you trie to squeeze out the extra $$$s needed to get a 6600GT display card rather than a 'vanilla' 6600. The extra performance you'll get will definitely be worth it. Even if you need to limit it to a 128Mb 6600GT, it will still be considerably better.
