So I have a Gateway laptop with windows XP that was givin to me. I've had it for atleast 2 years but recently as of last night, I go to login to my laptop and it says "loading your personal settings" but then all I see is the background and the curser. The service bar or the icons on my background won't even show up and I've tried leaving it on for a while to see if it was just being slow, but thats clearly not the case. None of my personal settings will pop up on my screen anymore, so please if someone could give me advice as of what to do I would be most greatful. :)

hi,try using this method .
ctrl+alt+delete ,and open taskmanager .
go to file/new and type in explorer.exe and hit enter
