I have several IDE and SATA hard drives that have Master Boot Records on them.

I would like to remove the MBR.

If I connect them up to a PC as a slave the CMOS does not know what to do. I get a blank screen and the computer goes in to an infinate loop. I can cycle each drive if no other drives are connected.

The motherboard selecting the hard drive to boot seems to have a problem. I don't want to replace the motherboard at present.

Do I need to an Fdisk from a cd or usb to rid the MBR and format that drive to be used as an extra storage device.

Is there some other software that will do that for me.
