hi all, I was cleaning my sons laptop - Compaq Presario v6000(it was shutting down after 10 mins from overheating) I had it working well but opened it back up to put all screws back in place & when i switched on to make sure everything was ok the screen started flickering with vertical bars so i wiggled a few connections to see which one was at fault & the power went off. i did find one of the ribbon cables had the metal strips bent & maybe touching each other - i've fixed this but there's no power still,
The power adaptor works, Blue light on side of laptop but nothing happens when power button is presssed, I'm guessing somethings blown & I've no idea what to do now.
Any suggestions are most welcome.
