I have a Sony Vaio K45 running Windows XP Home. When I boot up the machine randomly boots up with the desktop segmented into 4 separate desktops all showing the same desktop. Only the top left is a full desktop. I don't know if this is my video card going out or if there is a different fix that will keep me from going crazy. I have run all updates I can think of from Sony and Microsoft with no change. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Jump to PostI doubt that it is the video hardware that is going tits-up. Have you tried reinstalling/recovering the operating system? Scanned for viruses? Run in safe mode?

I have tried recovering/reinstalling the operating system, scanned for viruses and running in safe mode with no change. I even had the same problem in safe mode. It was really odd.
