hello,
I have a gateway 3018gz laptop i put a new lcd in it now heres the problem the lcd images are dark and hard to see on the screen. I accidently pluged in the wrong power supply and turned on the unit the power supply voltage was the same but the current on the power supply was rated a 3.95 A and the laptop could only handel 3.42A does anyone know if i blew out the lcd or what would i correct this issue thank.

You could do that, sure.
Some laptops have an all-inclusive LCD unit. Often times, disassembling the LCD portion of the device will damage the unit.
If you feel comfortable doing that, cool, but I would suggest simply replacing the whole LCD unit.
