Hello,

Just found this forum, very useful info. I'm not a huge tech guy, but I can follow instructions quite well. I'm just trying to get my wife's computer to behave.
2 things,
It is getting dog slow and it occasionally turns itself off with a black screen stating that it's overheating on restart. From what I've been reading, I'm lucky it's restarting.

The machine is a 15 month old Dell inspiron 1150. I'm trying to clean the thing without opening it but the fan area doesn't seem to be too bad. But I'm not afraid to open it if I have too. ( i'd really love to remove the keyboard to clean it properly)Another point is that it plugged in 99.99999% of the time. The battery is rarely used. I don't know if that could make a difference.

Can anyone walk me thru what I should do?

Thanks
Gerald
