Brief expert checklist for the “blank screen, lights blinking” symptom reported by . is correct to ask for model, exact LED colors/count and any beeps; ’s external-display idea is useful. Key facts to note before troubleshooting: exact laptop make/model, whether the charger and battery LED light, whether fans spin or HDD activity LED flashes, any POST beeps (count and pattern), and whether the blank screen shows a very faint image when viewed under a bright flashlight.

Ordered, safe checks (do these in sequence):

  1. Power-reset: disconnect AC, remove battery (if removable), hold power 15–30 seconds, reconnect AC only and try power-on. This clears many embedded-controller hangs.
  2. Observe signs at power-on: fan spin, drive LED, beeps, and charger LED. Record blink/beep patterns exactly.
  3. Check for a faint image by shining a strong flashlight at an angle on the LCD while powering on — a faint picture means backlight/inverter (older panels) or LED driver failure.
  4. Test with an external monitor (HDMI/VGA) and the laptop’s display-toggle key (Fn+F#). If the external shows POST/BIOS/OS but the internal remains dead, the issue is the display panel, cable, or backlight circuitry.
  5. If comfortable and out of warranty: reseat the RAM and SSD/HDD (cold, power removed) — loose memory often prevents POST/video. Also check the AC adapter voltage if a multimeter is available.

How to interpret results and next steps:

  • External works / internal faint image → likely panel or backlight circuit.
  • External works / internal totally black → cable or panel.
  • External also black, no fans or beeps → motherboard/graphics or power board problem.
If under warranty, contact manufacturer with model and blink/beep details. If out of warranty and not confident with hardware work, seek a local repair shop. Take electrostatic precautions and avoid powering the machine with the case open unless experienced.

Plz help me out..my lappy is nt working

If you expect help in less than the ONE MINUTE you took to remind us you were still waiting for help, then I suggest you try phoning the premium tech support scheme you must have subscribed to when buying your laptop.

If you expect help from members here, then I suggest you try providing more detail such as what make/model of laptop, how old it is, what lights are blinking, did the screen just stop working suddenly or have there been problems leading up to this event, etc etc.

Well, we don't have voodoo or anything to tell us what make or model of this laptop ( I'm assuming some Windows OS) so you leave us to guess .
I would ask if you have tried plugging your laptop into an external monitor to see if anything displays.
On another note I might see if some Linux distro displays on the laptop monitor.
