My computer had been working perfectly until just about an hour ago, when I powered on and witnessed the Asus motherboard splash screen sit there for a good five to ten minutes. Patient man I am, I waited it out, and it eventually gave me an error message saying "Overclocking failed!" and prompted me to either continue as normally or to check the BIOS settings. I looke in the BIOS, and everything was identical to the way it was when I first started using that machine. With a little bit of searching, I was able to conclude that it is a message that comes up when the motherboard thinks that something has failed. One person who experienced the same problem suggested that it may be the power supply, but other than that I have not come to any solid solution for this, and I'm not sure how many times I can sit through 5 minutes of the motherboard splash screen every time I want to boot up my machine.
