I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop; it's about 4 years old. Anyway, I've been using this machine with the same power adapter for years without incident.

Now when I boot up, I get a warning message something like, "AC Adaptor cannot be recognized. System will not operate at optimum performance."

Does anyone know what this message is about and what I can do about it?
