My cd hard drive doesnt do anything any more, i put a cd in, close it, there is a yellow light for like 5 seconds, and then all of a sudden, nothing happens, how do i get it working again?

After the yellow light goes off, can you navigate to My Computer and get to the drive from there? Can you see the drive contents, or does it hang/freeze?
Perhaps you accidentally changed a setting or two and it is not auto-playing any more.

no, when the light goes of, nothing happens, i go to my computer and theres nothing,, its like theres no disk inside at all, and by the way i have 98 :/ if that helps.

Sounds like the drive is dying. How old is it?

either that, or the drive was unplugged on the inside, maybe the data cable is just barely unplugged, have you modified your computer lately?
