I'm having an issue with a mostly brand new machine. I bought one of those Fry's special bundles with an Via chipset ECS mobo (which I admit, was probably mistake number 1) and a Core 2 Duo CPU. Everything works great and I was even able to load up my hard drive from my previous machine without losing a thing.
The problem is once I load the Drivers for my Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS PCI-Express Card I experience very consistent hardlocks, no error messages or anything. I then can go in and remove the drivers and everything works fine.
Does this sound like a bad PCI-E slot, conflict with Nvidia and Via, or just a bad mobo, cpu , and/or video card?
Any help would be more than I have right now :)....
thanks

mmm...looks like an incompatibility with Via chipset and Nvidia graphic cards.
