hello ppl i have a laptop with only one partition 60 gb i need to divide it to 2 parts can i do it without loosing my files or back up

Jump to PostI guess you need to defrag the disk first, and than get some partitioning software like PartitionMagic.
CAUTION: If you do this, your system may become unstable. So back up a couple of files before you start partitioning the HDD !

I agree with Master_Vos. You can partition your drive while in windows without losing your files through a partition magic program.
