I have had my hp pavillion 7955 desktop for five years and a few days ago the computer froze up and wouldnt shut down even by holding the power button so i unplugged it (bad idea) as soon as it turned off i tried turning it on and nothing happend not even the power light went on. the green light in the back is on.
what do i do and are all my photos and files gone??????

I suggest that you replace the PSU - a very simple task. Remember to get the same wattage or higher (I'd suggest a little higher).

At worst you can put your HDD into a USB enclosure and use the data in a new PC if the abobve doesn't work.

im a newbie when it comes to hardware and i've never opened a computer up before so im gonna just going to pay someone to do it
