Hi -

When I turn off my computer a series of dialogs appear that show that Windows is having a problem shutting down certain applications or processes. The dialogs say "Ending now..." followed by one or more of:

Sometimes the "turn off" process subsequently freezes with a blank screen in my desktop colour. Any help on this would be much appreciated as I there is obviously something wrong here.

I have run AdAware and SpyBot and found nothing more worrying than a few tracker cookies which I have nevertheless deleted. I run Norton Antivirus all the time (though I hate the way it slugs my machine's performance, particularly when right-clicking on an item in an explorer window). My HijackThis log currently looks like:

Thanks Crunchie - I deleted the baddy, did checkdisk and defrag but the problem remains! Maybe I need to reinstall Windows or IE. Thanks anyway
