Sairam all

Here is a scenario
I have two process : Each tries to write something to global memory. For establishing Syncronization mutexes and semaphores can be used.How ever is there any way that a process uses system call to tell to OS (scheduler in particular) to give control to another process.

So that each process alternately a chance either to read or write to memory.

Please tell related problems ,issues associated with this problem as well.
