My MacBook Air laptop keeps shutting off everytime I turn it on. I don't know what i should do. Help?

Do you normally close the laptop before it has completed shutting down?
How far does it go before it shuts down?

Its 2 Years old.
It happens when I connect the cable and when it's not connected.
I don't think it has a switch.
I close it when it's totally shut cdown.
Like 15 seconds
