I have windows 98. A friend put 620MB of pdf files on a memorex cd R. Its opens on OTHER computers but MY cd rom acts like theres nothing in it. I click to open....it says 'E not accessable...device not ready' (I cant even hear the disc spinning) however other cdrom discs automatically open. I double checked all the no brainers.
Perhaps a flash drive...my friend can download pdf's to it and I can open. The problem is that most flash drives need windows2000 or higher. Also confusing specs (1.1 bus port....or drivers are needed...where do I get them?)
The simple answer is buy a new system but I dont want to do that just for a few(important) pdf files.
Can anyone help me?
thanx
