I have read the thread that ends with system restore, but I would rather not do that... there has just got to be a better answer.

I have removed every reference to Quicktime from my registry and every file or folder associated with Quicktime. Have done the complete uninstall and still get the message "the configuration data for ths product is corrupt" and the following log file:

=== Logging started: 7/27/2008 10:14:33 ===
Command Line:
Executing: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe" /i "{08CA9554-B5FE-4313-938F-D4A417B81175}"
Returning: 1610

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Problem solved... installed Ubuntu and now I don't need quicktime... Audacity works just fine and I can rip my old LP.

Thanks,

Chet
