one day i noticed my moniter flash blue, i figured it was nothin because it automatically restarted itself... ugh

after a while it stared happening again... over and over. so i go annoyed... then i turned off the auto restart thingy and it said a bunch of jibberish and and in caps (i think) it said:

STOP 0x0000007b
inacessible something.... thats all i remember because it was like a one or two time thing... and i everso idiotically forgot to write anything down.... does anyone know what to do???

#2:

i have a laptop. its an hp windows vista and i LOVE IT! I call it lappy. anyway, thinkin i would never see it again... i was just messing around with some music. and i love this game called maplestory, so i tried to download it... but i downloaded the online version of it... a removed that, and it said i had to restart the laptop... so i did.. then the blue screen came up again.... i was devastated... sadly, i dunno the error on that one....

A concise, ordered troubleshooting checklist for the two machines described by , with practical next steps that go beyond a generic web search (as suggested). The focus is on recovering data first, then trying low-risk repairs on the desktop (old Windows install) and the Vista laptop.

For the Windows 2000 desktop
Try Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration (press F8 during BIOS/POST). If that fails, boot the Windows 2000 CD into the Recovery Console and run these repairs (one per line):

chkdsk /r
fixmbr
fixboot

chkdsk /r scans and repairs filesystem errors; fixmbr and fixboot repair the master boot record and boot sector. Reboot and test after each step. Also check BIOS disk-controller settings (IDE/compatibility vs RAID/AHCI); if the drive was moved from another PC, the controller mode mismatch often prevents boot. If data is critical, remove the drive and attach it to another PC or a USB-to-SATA adapter to copy files before doing low-level fixes.

For the Vista laptop
Try F8 → Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration first. If that doesn’t work, boot the Vista DVD (or Recovery Environment) and run Startup Repair, then System Restore to a point before the installation. From the Recovery Command Prompt run:

chkdsk C: /f /r

After repair attempts, scan the drive from a rescue USB/CD for malware before trusting the system. If repairs fail and the drive shows hardware errors, consider replacing it (most laptops use a 2.5" SATA drive; verify the exact HP model first).

Cautions and next steps
Back up data before running destructive repairs. fixmbr can affect multi-boot setups. If unsure, take the drive to a tech for imaging and diagnostics. These steps prioritize data safety and try the least invasive fixes first.

#1
Google "inaccessible boot device" and there's tons of advice on this one.

#2
No error details, no help possible. Presumably you can reboot and the same error will come up.

yeah i know that about number two.. im gonna update this as soon as i get the laptop back... but the inacessible boot thing i don know wat to do.. i went to google and nothing helped.. everything had somethin to do with getting to startup and it wont let me do that... it goes as far s to loading windows and it doesnt finish...
it said somethin about a floppy but i have no clue what to do with it.
any suggestions???
