I recently Ghosted my O/S drive from 40Gb to 80Gb.
The system boots ok, to the log in screen but when you log in the system shuts down.
Any suggestions?

Were there any bad sectors on old 40 gb hdd ? and did u do disk copy or partition copy?

The drive was partition into 2 each half of the total size
I did a partition copy of old C drive to 1st partiton on the 80 Gb then the old D drive to the second partition on the *0 Gb drive
The old D drive has issues that were causing a scandisk at startup every time
