Someone rebooted the Server inadvertently and now the Exchange Server won't start. I checked Event Viewer and it says that the MAPI Failed. Only God knows what happened.

Is there a way to go back to the time that it was working before without having to use the back-up tape?

Thanks a lot.

No.

System restore is only available in Windows XP and Windows ME. Server 2003 doesn't even have it, to my knowledge. Your best bet is going to be restoring from your most current backup tape.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news on this one...

You could try to troubleshoot the error. It might be a services dependancy issue. You could go in services.msc and check to see what services that are linked to your exchange server are stopped and restart them.

Is your server a Domain Controller?
