can anyone help?
When not in safe mode the desktop switches between desktop and a "restore active desktop" screen. When browsing this causes loss of focus. These switch on and off at about 1 second intervals.
When in safe mode a splash screen saying "running in safe mode constantly pops up. as soon as I "OK" this it shows the desktop for a second and then the message pops up again the message is headed "desktop".
I think these problems may be related to an option called desktop listed in the "display" list in control panel. i cannot delete this or find an actual file with a search.
