I found a Belkin cable that is an RJ45 ethernet on one end and a parallel [printer-type] adapter on the other. Wanted to know if this could be used to connect to a port on a linksys router to get internet access. If possible, how much configuration would be involved? Much thanks for any guidance.

Noticed you never recived a reply to your post. The answer is no. You have to use a CAT5 cable with ethernet connectors on each end, one end plugs into your nic in the computer and the other into the router.
