Can anyone recommend a good PDF app to run on Server 2008 R2 Standard, 64 bit? A client just switched to EMR hosted on the server, with the client computers running 7 32bit. Currently they're using PDFCreator, and when it works, it works fine, but often the printer is no longer visible from the workstations, which causes all kinds of grief, and has to be stopped and restarted on the server. Am looking for another app to try, just has to be compatable with both 64 and 32 bit Windows. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I use CutePDF Writer. It's free and doesn't have to be run on a server. It just installs as a pseudo-printer and can be installed on on the workstations for whichever users need it. I haven't tried this but perhaps it could also be installed as a shared printer if it needs to go on the server.

it might be worth having a look at the Foxit Reader

It sounds like you want to allow your network clients to connect to the server and create PDFs based on what you install on the server. Not sure if CutePDF Write can be installed, then "shared" as another network printer. Give it a try and report back your experiences...
