hello i lost my optima recovery disc and was wonderign if i could install windows xp using just a nromal windows disc cause also my computer has no os

I'm thinking so, but before I confirm, we'll let some other people voice in. :)

Yes it should work ok, but you will have to manaully download motherboard drivers, audio, and SATA drivers (probably), and video card drivers. Windows will load with older windows default drivers once the OS is loaded but you would need to find out what motherboard chipset you have and get the appropriate drivers (EG NVIDA nforce2-3-4, or VIA, or SIS, or Intel), and find out what onboard audio controller you have, and of course your video driver swould need to be installed.

how do a boot fromt he cd to isntall it?

Go into the Bios when the system boots and set the CD as the first boot device
