Pop up problems

I am having a problem bring up child pages on internet explorer they do not load up i have not downloaded any pop blockers that are not spyware i have tried to find the problem but adaware didn't find much and i'm pretty sure its spyware related because it started happening about a week ago and i was on a lot of websites that had a lot of ads
EDIT:almost forgot i have IE6 and have windows 98

MAKE SURE YOU UPDATE ALL SOFTWARE BEFORE RUNNING IT!

Download Spybot

Download CWShredder

Step 4
Run Windows Update

Step 5
Run Panada
http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/com/default.asp

Step 6
Update all your virus scanners/firewalls

Step 7
Update AdAware & Spybot

Step 8
RUN EVERYTHING 2-3 TIMES TILL IT'S GONE DON'T FORGET TO REBOOT & RERUN EVERYTHING!
