I have a Gateway E Series PC setup as a Linux Print Server. We decided to remake it back into a Windows machine for a new employee. When we try to boot from a Windows XP CD it comes up with the Setting up hardware line and then the screen goes blank and stays that way. Sometimes we do not even get that before the blank screen. The CD works in another PC fine. We have tried 2 CD drives with the same result. Ideas anyone? I am stumped.

Could you try swapping, even reseating, your RAM sticks? If you have more than one, try running with just one in slot #1, then the other....
