i am trying to remotely connect to my computer at home while im at my brothers house approx. 100miles away. Both computers have cable internet connections. I am able to remotely connect using pcanywhere but would prefer to use rdc because i could use it from any computer that doesnt have pcanywhere. i have the ports forwarded to the host computer (since its on a router) its forwarding port 3389 to 192.168.0.102 which is the host computer i want to use. i also had the firewall off when ive tried to connect with no such luck. it is enabled under my computer>remote. i have read other forums and have ensured that that port is opening and listening. i am out of ideas. if someone has a suggestion or could help me i would greatly appreciate it. THANKS!

Most ISP block traffic from 3389, I RDP to my home system via a SSH tunnel. Here is a good document on how to setup cygwin
