i am having one broad band connection and 2 pc, and iam using XP os in both.is it possible to share internet connection without using hub/switch.(2 pc's having ethernet card)

Yep you need a Cross-Over cable. check link below.

but both PC's need to be on to use internet on the 2nd PC, so it is advised to get a router.
