i have a 98 machine that looses its connection to the mapped drive we have on it... it doesn't loose all networking connections, i can still ping, and get out on the web. and logging on and off doesn't really seem to do much to solve the problem either.. i originally thought that the nic was going bad but after replacing it and testing it out before giving it back to the user i experienced the problem again... i assume its loosing something with the server.. any ideas....

When does it lose it's mapped drive? When you tell it to "unmap this drive"? It's supposed to do that. ;-)

Describe the process you're going through when it loses the mapped drive...

it tends to lose connection in the afternoon. when i was testing it out, i just let it sit there and it lost connection. this lady loses it when she is just working on it, editing files or what not. its pretty random when it drops connection
