hi sardukar.trying the nemo codecpak was the first thing i tryed and it didnt work.and i already have the divx player and the winamp.its just becum a mission for me to fix the windows media player......

i was just going through my registry and i cant find eny mplayer2 files there could this be the reson that i cant play avi files with windows media player 9 and if so how can i replace mplayer2 .exe

why not try kazaa lite resurrection its the best of the best.it is so much better than the clean version.wich is so hard to install ent way....

hi caperjack.good to here from you yes most are bad but thats not the point here. files that have played in the past will not play now.and that has somthing to do with the win media player not kazaa gold.wich is a pay to use program..........

i dont know why but this is the third time that on windows media player 9.i can not play avi.files i have tryed to solve this problem on this forum befor with no luck two times befor i have reinstalled windows xp pro to fix the problem not this time.i was just thinking it mite be a missing plug-in or something like that.eny help would be greatlly appreciated.......... :sad:

i have a cd-r disk with one movie file avi.and two norton ghost's 2003.and 2004.and alcohol 120%.when i put the cd-r into the cd rom it spins for about a minute or so and then it stops and does nothing.when i check in my d.drive nothing showes up its like there isnt a disk in the cd.eny help would be appreciated.......

my system is a pentium4.1400.with winxp home a 40gig hd with 37.3 on the main partition and 7 mb on the rest.i just got powerquest driveimage 7.0 and after formating the cd-rw i try to burn the image of my hd to the cd-rw but i get a popup saying that the media is not ready make shure the media is in the drive and is formated and writable.eny help would be appreciated...

the only reason i was thinking about norton is a friend has it and says its pretty good but the more i read about it.i think i will pass.what are some good image software programs.

iam running a pentium 4.1400. with windows xp home edition with sp1.and all updates.i removed all traces of the program from the registry beforei uninstalled the program.i tryed to use jv16 power tools to remove the program but.i cant get it out of the ad&remove window.i tryed to reinstall the program but a box pops up that says cant install ther is a version of the program already installed.eny help would be greatly appreciated.

hay capperjack alway good to hear from a fellow candian about the third party software i tryed nero and roxio easy cd creator iam using the cd burning softare that comes with windows xp home.for me it work better than ether of the two other programs.iam thinking it mite be a driver prob.

iam using a pentium 4.1400 megs the only reason that i dont copy to harddrive and then burn is that i went out and got acronis becouse every one i know says its the best so i thought i would try it. but i think thats what i will endup doing thanks for the reply.

iam running a p4 1400 with windows xp home edition i just got acronis true image 6 to backup my harddrive it installs ok but when i try to copy my harddrive it starts and then the cd pops out and is says error cant create image may be becouse of poor media.i have tryed two diffrent types of cd both 80 min 700megs.i dont know if it matters but iam using the windows xp cd burning software.i have contacted acronis tech support but thay dont know what the prob is either. eny help would be appreciated.thanks in advance

thanks for the reply caperjack.that sounds a little bit to much for me so i think i will just stick with the basic reformat of a clean install and delete the partitions.

i got the picture thing down now.i havent had a update pop up for a few hours now. maybe by fooling around with it. i got lucky and fixed it knock on wood.

yes iam using xp home.i dont know enything about root account please explain.iam getting auto updates from windows update site the auto update just poped up as we speak.that makes 7.the two accounts i have are administrator and quest.

thanks for all your help.big b affleck the joke went over my head.do you know eny thing about updates that just keep coming back i have two updates that i have downloaded and installed four or five times now.as we speak iam downloading them again.they are october 2003 cumulitive patch for internet explorer 6 service pack 1.and 2003 security update for outlook express 6 sp1.like i said this is my fifth or sixth time downloading and installing.the two together are only 4 mb
